Livingstone Christian College commenced in 2002. Starting with a small class of eleven students, Livingstone has since grown to a community of over 1300 students from Prep to Year 12 and over 180 staff members, as well as an Early Learning Centre located on the same campus. Livingstone Christian College is a non-denominational, not-for-profit entity, governed by a Board of Directors. It is part of a fellowship of schools administered by Christian Community Ministries Ltd. which includes eleven schools across Australia and a camp-site. Livingstone is also a member of Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ).
Livingstone is committed to continue seeing our facilities grow and improve. As a part of this, there are several building projects planned for future years as we continue to work towards completing our campus’ masterplan.
At Livingstone, the opportunities for students continue beyond academic learning. With a wide variety of sporting, performing arts and other programs, students can grow and flourish in their specialised areas of interest.
At Livingstone, we have three categories of sports: Premier Sports, Get Active Sports and House Sporting Competitions. These provide a wide range of opportunities for students of sporting abilities and interests. Some of Livingstone's Premier Sports include Rugby 7's, Volleyball and AFL.
Performing Arts at Livingstone is a thriving hub of activity offering innovative Prep to Year 12 curriculum, industry-professional tuition through Livingstone Arts Academy, and a growing Extra-Curricular portfolio to extend and enrich students in all performance disciplines. Livingstone Performing Arts seeks to inspire our College and broader community through the example of our Creator-God, skilled educators and passionately engaged students, to strive for excellence and to create, nurture and develop the cultural heartbeat of the College; encouraging a collective appreciation of the Arts with an eternal focus.
Our Agricultural Science Show Team, which is a co-curricular program for Secondary students, visits shows such as the Toowoomba Royal Show and the EKKA each year. The Show Team provides valuable industry-like experience for students to be hands-on with practical learning in Agricultural Science.
Welcome to Livingstone Christian College.
We hope you will find us to be a place where every child flourishes. A place where your child will flourish. We have placed emphasis on four broad areas to ensure any child can flourish, regardless of their unique strengths. These emphases are on academic achievement, sporting development (where we focus on a few key sports) and, the performing arts and community (which includes trade training, preparing students for the Asia Century and being a responsible local citizen). Within these four broad areas, we believe that every child can experience success and grow in confidence.
At our core is trying to understand how to live and act within a Christian framework. Livingstone Christian College has a strong focus on living out the values of Jesus. We recognise that Jesus lived and talked about living in a way that was contrary to the way most people live. So, our A Big Year virtues program has a monthly cross-College emphasis on one of the big themes of Jesus that could be loving our neighbours, being generous, practicing hospitality, being faithful, loving our enemies, practicing forgiveness, serving the poor or reforming ourselves rather than others. As part of our intention to build confidence and resilience in our students, we have also launched the truth-based social-emotional program "My Life Rulz". This program incorporates wise and insightful statements that can replace the unhealthy thinking which leads to anxiety, depression and other areas of stress. Our renewed 'language’ is transforming minds across the College.
We hope you can see that Livingstone Christian College has a unique and strong emphasis on the development of the whole child. These emphases are embedded from our Early Learning Centre through to our Senior students, where real life opportunities are provided to ensure they are ready to succeed in life beyond school. To achieve these ends, we have assembled a great team who are determined to be the best they can be, to ensure that your child flourishes at Livingstone Christian College. We have a strong commitment to professional development and performance management processes to ensure all staff, from our teachers to bus drivers, leaders to cleaners, are all working together to ensure that every child... your child... flourishes at Livingstone Christian College.
Livingstone Christian College aims to ensure every child can flourish. Here are 10 key features of our curriculum aimed at helping every individual. We offer:
- A phonics-based approach to literacy using technology. This approach includes parent training and access to resources. Livingstone aims to provide children with a flying head start in literacy and numeracy.
- The curriculum is presented from a Christian worldview. A practical, values-based virtues program complements weekly Christian studies classes and a School chapel.
- A seamless Prep to Year 12 curriculum.
- Targeted programs include excellent learning support, special needs programs, and extension programs for gifted and talented students.
- Flexible vocational education and training courses with industry links. The Vocational Excellence Program includes a Trade Training Centre (offering certificate courses in Engineering, Construction, Boat Building, Business and Agriculture) and is designed to backward map student training according to their desired vocational pathway.
- The College has a nationally recognised program that develops students for a global workforce, including engagement with visiting international students and overseas tours (e.g. in 2018, the College had a student tour to the ANZAC Centenary celebration in France and a student tour to Japan, then 2019 saw a mission trip to Fiji and an educational trip to China).
- Program curriculum-enhancing camps at regular intervals from Year 3 to 12, including a Year 6 interstate excursion to Canberra and overseas mission exchange opportunities.
- Extensive leadership opportunities across year levels.
- A strong Performing Arts Academy including an annual school musical
- A wide variety of extra-curricular activities which include our Arts Academy (Dance, Speech and Drama, Instrumental Music), Leo Club, Beenleigh Yatala Junior Chamber of Commerce, Gold Coast Secondary Schools Drama competition and eisteddfods, attendance at Griffith Asia Institute events, camp and international tours and involvement with students from other countries on exchange in Australia. The College has also developed strength in competitive sport in Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby 7s and AFL.
Livingstone’s fleet of buses provides service to all areas surrounding the College and further afield. Our bus routes service areas to Nerang in the south, to Runaway Bay in the east, north to Loganholme and Edens Landing, and to Cedar Creek/Logan Village in the west. We also offer a free pick up and drop off service to Ormeau Train Station.
Livingstone currently offers door to door service to all of our students of Primary school age and varying options for Secondary year level students based on their living location. All of our buses have seat belts and are air-conditioned and we pride ourselves on offering the best service possible. Our bus staff are committed to their positions and have regular training throughout the year to keep them up to date with all legal requirements as well as Livingstone standards.

• The commitment, dedication and support from the staff at Livingstone is outstanding. I love volunteering at our school as I get to be part of a community environment. I can start from my kids in Prep and follow their schooling journey all the way through to graduation.
