As a leading independent girls’ school we are renowned for our innovative approach to education, extensive curriculum choice and our diverse co-curricular program. We encourage the pursuit of academic excellence through a rigorous educational program that allows our students to achieve at the highest level.

We follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme as the framework to deliver the NSW curriculum in Years 7-10. The Middle Years Programme prepares students to learn collaboratively and think independently, skills vital for success in senior years.

In Years 11-12 we offer a dual-based curriculum, the Higher School Certificate and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
Our world class facilities place us at the forefront of academic excellence. Our contemporary learning spaces facilitate collaborative learning, transformational thinking, creativity and activity.

All students are encouraged to take part in a diverse range of Co-curricular activities and other opportunities, enhancing their leadership, resilience, wellbeing and teamwork skills for the future.

The College encourages a high level of participation as part of our 'Sport for All' program. Although sport is not compulsory at Monte, we have elite sport pathways and opportunities for participation that focus on being part of a team and expanding friendship groups. Monte girls enjoy and experience considerable success in the Catholic Girls' Secondary Schools Sports Association and the Independent Girls' Schools Sports Association competitions and carnivals.

Monte's Co-curricular music ensembles cater for a wide range of student abilities, experience and interest. All members of our ensembles attend the annual Music Camp and take part in band, choir or string ensemble rehearsals and workshops. All students of Music Enrichment and Elective Music classes join ensembles, along with many of our young women who take individual voice, instrumental and musicianship lessons through our Music Academy.

Our community also enjoy Drama evenings, House Plays, Debating, TheatreSports, and many clubs where students have opportunities to discover and develop their individual skills, talents and interests.
Leadership - we foster the uniqueness and leadership potential of every student, empowering them to take their place in the world. Through transformational leadership programs we are committed to changing the workplace paradigm for young women.
Mercy in Action - service to others is at the heart of College life. Students are encouraged to work for the common good, to be responsible stewards of our environment, to identify unjust social practices and to advocate for positive change.
Wellbeing - we are committed to ensuring that every student is supported, nurtured and valued. Our pastoral care and co-curricular programs ensure our girls have a balanced, holistic education that supports them to become lifelong learners, with the capacity and ingenuity to participate in all facets of life.
The Mercy tradition holds the following five core values:
Mercy
Human Dignity
Justice
Service
Option for the Poor
Our vision is to be a leader in dynamic and innovative Catholic education. The College's Mercy mission will be enhanced by the pursuit of further educational excellence, inclusivity of our Australian social diversity and an identity of international-mindedness.
Students at Monte are formed in their Catholic faith and guided by the Mercy mission and spirit. This spirit is welcoming and hospitable, modelling fairness, justice and compassion, especially to those in need.
