There is something very comforting in finding the Southern Cross in a sky crowded with constellations. For millennia the Southern Cross has guided and reassured the peoples of our land. The stars were and continue to be an important symbol for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the first custodians of our ancient land. The Southern Cross has guided explorers and navigators and became a symbol of unity first for the miners of Eureka and then on our National Flag. For Australian Christians, the Southern Cross is a symbol of the Great South Land of the Holy Spirit.
Southern Cross Catholic College continues the rich and proud tradition of Catholic education on the Redcliffe Peninsula in providing a comprehensive education for our students from Prep to Year 12. The college comprises four campuses spanning the Peninsula from Woody Point to Scarborough and Kippa Ring. As a Lasallian College we celebrate and live the charism of St John Baptist De La Salle where we accept the invitation to make the loving and saving presence of Jesus Christ a visible and effective reality in the world of education, in the world of the young. Ultimately we are about faith leading to service which in turn builds authentic community.
I commend our Prospectus and our website as a valuable source of information for prospective families and invite parents to visit our college for a more personal experience.
Live Jesus in our hearts forever!
Chris Campbell
Principal
