St Martin's Primary School is located in the leafy northern Sydney suburb of Davidson. The Principal, Mr Adrian Pulley is a visionary and is passionate about supporting each individual family as they navigate their child's educational journey. St Martin's is an inclusive school with a strong sense of community and care. Students do not need to be Catholic to attend St Martin's - we welcome all families.
Mr Pulley was appointed Principal of St Martin’s at the beginning of 2019. In this time, Mr Pulley has developed and introduced so many new initiatives including (but not limited to) a new music production program, extension classes for students requiring an additional challenge in their learning, school-wide coding classes, a brand new playground and a preschool programme for younger members of the local community so they can come to St Martin's and be part of the learning that happens here.
We have dedicated teachers who work with the students and their parents to program each child's education so that goals can be reached and celebrated. In additional to extension classes, we also offer support to children who need additional help with their learning. It is so important to give the students a variety of learning opportunities so they are engaged and enjoy their learning.
We have excellent teacher to student ratios and students really do benefit from this. In larger schools, students can get lost in the system. We pride ourselves on tailoring the day-to-day school experience for the best outcomes of the children.
We have a wonderfully warm and welcoming community. Each new student is paired up with a buddy and new families are welcomed by class parents and embraced by the community upon arrival.

At St Martin's, we work together to develop our students towards the fulfilment of their potential in all areas. Teachers view the child as a unique individual who is developing at an individual rate and therefore classroom learning is individually focused in order to provide opportunities for enrichment and support in all areas.
The staff of St Martin’s are highly skilled, enthusiastic and committed to providing the best learning opportunities for the children. Our pursuit of best teaching and learning practice is supported by an extensive professional development program for all staff. It is the quality of our teachers that makes all the difference. Relationships are a vital feature of St Martin's School. Programs such as Positive Behaviours for Learning, the Buddy System, and the Seasons for Growth Program foster open and honest relationships which positively affect the children's self-esteem.
There is a strong sense of spirit and pride in the school from students, staff and parents. We highly value the contributions of parents in our school community. The Parents and Friends Association are extremely active and provide social and educational contact between parents through parent education and fundraising programs. We are like a family and we are proud of our school.

What do our familes and students think of St Martin's Davidson?
A small sample of the 'open ended' comments parents made about what they value most about St Martin's Davidson:
"The caring community that St Martin's has created. The staff at the school are very caring towards the children. I believe that St Martin's provides a holistic educational experience - academic/sport and social awareness."
"The strong sense of community which is demonstrated consistently and the strong emphasis on the values strength and gentleness which permeate throughout the school."
"There is a wonderful sense of community at St Martins. In this day and age it can be hard to come by a group that cares so much about others. The school is focused on the big picture not just the results they can boast about. It seems to be important to develop well rounded young community members not just intelligent ones."
"The closeness of the community. The excellent teachers, students and families within the school. There is a true level of care and kindness in the school that is unique. The standard of education is excellent. The PBL and Kids Matter programs are wonderful. The teachers are very hardworking and passionate about education. It is a lovely school where everyone feels valued."
“Australia My Country” Competition Winners
In March, many of our St Martin's Davidson students entered the "Australia My Country" competition and had the opportunity to represent the theme as a written entry or a piece of art work. Well done to all of the students who entered. There were many amazing pieces of work.
This year St Martin's Davidson have two prize winners!
Congratulations Thomas C (Year 5) for a first place poem, and Ryan D (Year 4) for achieving a third place.
The “Australia My Country” competition is proudly sponsored by the RSL Northern Beaches District Council and Forestville RSL Sub-Branch. It has been designed to enhance students' sense of pride and patriotism in being an Australian through writing, poetry, and art; and to showcase local student's creative writing and arts skills, as well as celebrate the many different faces of our country.
Last year we were very proud of Ross P for winning the ”Australia My Country” competition.
