Extras

Strathcona girls break the stereotypes of elite private education—and the school is proud of it. Action, meaning and fulfilment take precedence, ensuring each girl discovers a trajectory as unique and full of potential as she is.

The beautiful Tay Creggan campus provides a unique experience for Year 9 girls as they prepare to transition into Senior School. Not only is the campus tailored to their learning needs, it is home to Strathcona’s inspirational life skill programs TC Envision.

Seamlessly integrated with the national Year 9 curriculum, TC Envision teaches entrepreneurial skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, design capability, intellect, collaboration, communication and resilience. This helps set girls up for success in their senior secondary years and beyond.

Additionally, Year 9 girls are connected with inspirational role models thanks to the all girls school’s partnership with the League of Extraordinary Women, a collective of Melbourne’s most successful businesswomen. Their mentoring and acumen help guide students as they develop their own ideas and goals.

As they depart Year 9 and begin their senior years, the TC Envision girls have discovered greater maturity, formed lasting connections and honed a diverse range of life skills from teamwork, sustainability and financial management to Duke of Edinburgh, barista skills and Adobe Illustrator.

Strathcona affords its girls the opportunity to discover who they really are, and to pursue their life’s potential. Through a culture of academic excellence and a rich selection of co-curricular activities, Strathcona girls grow and thrive.

Activities like debating, drama, music, creative arts and competitive sports allow girls to develop personal skills such as empathy, communication, leadership and teamwork.

A Strathcona girl is balanced in mind, body and spirit and these co-curricular activities contribute to her robust sense of self. Being ready for life is not about being the best—it’s about being her best.

In addition, Strathcona Girls Grammar offers a contemporary global links program (encouraging students to positively impact the lives of others), a well-rounded outdoor education program and a House System for cross-age and personal development activities.

Empowerment

The Strathcona School motto is ‘Bravely, Faithfully, Happily’.
Strathcona is a nurturing learning community that develops intellectually curious, optimistic and bold young women who are empowered to shape their own futures in a rapidly changing world.

Few decisions as a parent hold the same significance as choosing the right school for your daughter. You want your daughter to be challenged academically in a happy, safe and nurturing environment by committed educators who are experts in the learning and development of girls.

At Strathcona, supportive networks underlie every academic, co-curricular, leadership and social endeavour each girl chooses to pursue. Our aim is to afford girls the opportunity to try various activities so that each individual is able to recognise and develop her own interests and unique attributes.

Our goal is to forge innovative 21st century educational practices whilst remaining committed to proven traditional teaching. We seek to instill a love of learning in our girls and to encourage them to be agile and discerning thinkers, with the resilience and perseverance to problem solve and adapt to new challenges both within and beyond the School’s gates.

I invite you to walk through our campuses and experience the tangible, warm sense of belonging and community.
